32nd & Harbor 48" SMH Emergency Repair

Scope: The Work consists of the repair and replacement of two failed 48" sewer manholes at Harbor Drive, the repair of damaged underground wet utilities, the stabilization of adjacent wet and dry utilities, and the restoration of the pavement.

Challenges: Multi-agency permitting, major traffic corridors, deep excavation, and a large-diameter system that must remain in service during construction.

Results: Orion was able to mobilize with our DOR, Harris and Associates, to immediately assess, design, and construct a solution to this emergency failure for the sewer system. The design was completed in parallel with construction, demonstrating the agility of both the owner and the design-build team.
